Senior Energy Engineer

Location: Singapore
Salary: c£55k-£60k + expat package

This is an opportunity to join a leading facilities management service provider operating on a global basis. The team in Singapore has responsibility for operations in over 40 countries with clients covering commercial, industrial, energy, mining and oil and gas sectors.
We are seeking a qualified experienced Electrical Engineer with experience of Energy Auditing to take a senior level role working for a global Facilities Management Service Provider.
Reporting to the Technical Manager – Energy Management, your mission will be to participate in the development of client accounts through energy management auditing.

As such, typical duties will encompass:

• To act as assistant to the Technical Manager - Energy Management
• Managing the energy audit process, such as but not limited to:
  • Carrying out site testing on client’s premises, including monitoring of transformers and high voltage switchgear;
  • General power supply analysis, power demand break-up;
  • Chillers COP’s (coefficient of performance) cooling tower and pump efficiencies, lighting, refrigeration, general power, standby generators and the like;
  • Analyse data and produce reports which lay out clearly the building performance and includes recommended initiatives for energy savings.
  • Liaise with the client at all times and keep them fully informed of the audit progress and any findings of significance.

• Calculating payback periods for replacement items

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related field;
• Extensive experience in the commercial/industrial industries in a “hands on” role (to have gained an over-all appreciation of the operation of mechanical plant including chillers, pumps, air-handling units, cooling towers and the like).
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principals of;
  • Refrigeration systems in conjunction with commercial and industrial water and air chillers;
  • Hydraulics associated with pumping and water flow through piping and coil systems;
  • Heating and hot water systems including steam, boilers, heat exchangers and control systems;
  • Properties of air and psychometric charts;
  • Airflow principals associated with fans and air distribution systems;
  • Building power supply, with a clear understanding of harmonics, power factor correction, and phase imbalance;
  • Lighting systems, efficiencies of the various types.
• Ability to diagnose and interpret data recovered from operating plant on sites and write up analytic reports.
• Experience in working with data logging equipment including power analysers, ultrasonic flow meters, and temperature/pressure loggers.
• Ability to accurately calculate operating costs and transpose predicted energy savings into real time savings for the client.
• Able to communicate with OEM.
• Ability and willingness to work independently with limited supervision or as part of a team, ability to work under pressure.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent listening and problem solving skills.
• Fluency in English, ability to travel worldwide.
