Junior CAFM Developer (Ref:145)

Reports to: CAFM Team Manager
Overview
The main focus of the role is the development and configuration of systems within the CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) department. All development and configuration is based around CAFM products.
The role includes understanding the requirements and following the software development processes.
The candidate is expected to contribute on small to medium scale projects which can be both internal and external facing.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with the team in understanding the CAFM products and toolkits and requirements.
- Developing applications/toolkits based on the requirements provided.
- The role will also encompass ongoing enhancements to the existing systems which are developed.
- Perform software installations at customer sites if necessary.
- Preparation of System Configuration documents and System Requirements.
- Provision of technical support will normally be as a result of direct client contact through the development phase of an installation or from escalation of customer support requests logged by the support department.
- Provision of advice and technical solutions to customer problems, including updating call logging database.
- If appropriate, supply software or supporting documentation to aid the resolution of customer problems.
- The role will include visits to client sites and technical consultancy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Thorough technical understanding of relevant development languages and database products – the successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of HTML, Javscript, ASP.NET (VB) and SQL server and knowledge of XML/XSL, Sybase and Oracle.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work well under pressure are also crucial.
Credentials & Experience
- Software development experience is an essential.
- The successful applicant must be educated to degree level.

- Car driver (must hold a valid UK driving licence)
- Some UK travel might be required
