CAD Applications Engineer - Support Services (Ref:119)

Reports to: Support Services Manager
Overview
The primary objective of the role is to provide telephone and remote support for customers. There may also be a requirement to attend customer sites on an occasional basis and assist with the installation of new applications. The CAD Applications Engineer will demonstrate extensive experience in the role and exceptional troubleshooting skills within the AutoCAD field.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnosis and trouble shooting of customer faults received via our technical support helpdesk
- Conduct software testing
- Logging support calls with appropriate third-parties where applicable
- Keeping the customer support database up-to-date with support call progress
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent telephone manner
- Advanced understanding of industry specific applications for GIS such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD Map 3D is an essential requirement
- Basic understanding of applications such as AutoCAD Architecture and Revit Architecture
- Demonstrable understanding of computer fault diagnosis
- Basic understanding of core Microsoft applications
- Demonstrable ability to provide remote analysis of computer problems
Credentials & Experience
- Minimum of four GSCE’s or equivalent including English
- Preferred industry degree qualified (or equivalent) the CAD Support Engineer will have established experience in a similar position and/or worked in a design environment
- Experience in a technical support role would be an advantage
Special Requirements
- Some UK travel required may be required
- Car driver (must hold a valid Clean UK driving licence)
- Some out of hours work
- Must be self motivated and work well within a team
