Architectural Technician - Grade 1
Job Description Summary:
- Willing to undertake a structured course of professional qualifications
Detailed Duties:
- Carry out partners and associates instructions.
- Working within company project procedures.
- Work under instruction on project design.
- Participate in recording of project administration.
- Liaising with all other departments.
Special skills/experience needed:
- Ability to work with others in design teams.
- Developing design and presentation.
- Administration skills to participate in office procedures.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Able to work under the instruction of others.
- Working knowledge of IT with ability to develop use of CAD.
- Reporting to partners and associates.
Accountable to:
- Project related - To partner-in-charge, project associates and senior staff.
Architectural Assistant – Grade 2
Job Description Summary:
- Undertaking a structured course of professional qualifications (or equivalent experience) and capable of working within a design team.
Detailed Duties:
- Carry out partners and associates instructions.
- Working within company project procedures.
- Work under instruction on project design.
- Participate in recording of project administration.
- Liaising with all other departments.
Special skills/experience needed:
Minimum RIBA Part one exemption or studying for HNC / Degree in Architectural Technology (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work with others in design teams.
- Developing communication skills to present your work internally.
- Developing design ability.
- Presentation skills.
- Administration skills to participate in recording design.
- Developing contract administration knowledge.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Able to work under the instruction of others in the internal design team.
- Working knowledge of IT with ability to develop use of CAD and associated visualisation packages.
- Awareness of risk.
Special responsibilities:
- Reporting to partners and associates on all aspects of projects undertaken.
- Implementing Project Procedures to projects, including PQP.
Accountable to:
- Project related - To partner-in-charge, project associates and senior staff.
Architectural Assistant / Technical Assistant Grade 3
Job Description Summary:
- An Assistant undertaking final stage of professional qualifications (or equivalent experience) capable of working within a design team, internal and external, with developing design skills in chosen discipline and working within a design team.
Detailed Duties:
- Carry out partners and associates instructions.
- Consultant liaison with reporting mechanism to senior staff.
- Working within company project procedures.
- Understand principles of internal project costing control.
- Developing the project design under direction from senior staff in accordance with the brief.
- Co-ordinate with consultants.
- Participate in the implementation and recording of project administration.
- Understand risk and participate in its identification and management.
- Liaising with all other departments.
Special skills / experience needed:
- Ability to work with others in design teams.
- Developing communication skills to present the projects to outside parties.
- Developing standard of design ability through all project design development stages.
- Presentation skills associated with communication and design ability.
- Administration skills to participate in recording design and contract management.
- Developing contract administration knowledge.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Able to participate within the design team.
- Good working knowledge of IT, in particular CAD and associated visualisation packages.
- Awareness of risk management.

Architect - Grade 4
Job Description Summary:
- Qualified Architect or Technologist (or equivalent experience) capable of working within a design team, internal and external teams, with proven design skills in chosen discipline and working directly with partner/associate and other senior staff.
Detailed Duties:
- Carry out partners and associates instructions.
- Client liaison with reporting mechanism to senior staff.
- Working within company project procedures.
- Understand principles of internal programming, resourcing and project costing control.
- Develop the project design under direction from senior staff in accordance with the brief.
- Co-ordinate with consultants.
- Implement and record project administration.
- Understand risk and participate in its identification and management.
- Liaising with all other departments.
Special skills / experience needed:
- Minimum 1 years post-qualification practice experience with job management.
- Ability to work with others in design teams and understanding delegation process.
- Communication skills to present the projects to outside parties including Client.
- Developed standard of design ability through all project design development stages.
- Presentation skills associated with communication and design ability.
- Administration skills to record design and contract management.
- Reasonable contract administration knowledge.
- High level of self-motivation and initiative.
- Able to participate, delegate and motivate within the design team.
- Good working knowledge of IT in particular, CAD and associated visualisation packages.
- Level of awareness of risk management.
Special responsibilities:
- Reporting to partners and associates on all aspects of projects undertaken.
- Implementing Project Procedures to projects, including PQP.

Senior Architect - Grade 5
Job Description Summary:
- Qualified Architect or Technologist (or equivalent experience) capable of managing the design team, internal and external clients and able to deliver a project in accordance with the brief and company requirements with minimum partner / associate intervention.
Detailed Duties:
- Carry out partners and associates instructions.
- Client liaison.
- Working within company project procedures.
- Assist in programming, resourcing and project costing control.
- Lead and develop the project design in accordance with the brief.
- Co-ordinate with consultants.
- Implement and record project administration.
- Monitor Risk.
- Liaising with all other departments.
Special skills / experience needed:
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification practice experience with job management.
- Ability to work on own initiative, but recognising need to delegate up and down.
- Communication skills to represent the Practice at all levels including Client liaison.
- High standard of design ability through all project design development stages.
- Presentation skills associated with communication and design ability.
- Administration skills to communicate design and management.
- Reasonable contract administration knowledge.
- High level of self-motivation and initiative.
- Able to lead, manage, delegate and motivate the design team.
- Working knowledge of IT in particular, CAD and management software application tools.
- High level of awareness of risk management.
Special responsibilities:
- Management of professional staff working on assigned projects.
- Supervision of project design team.
- Reporting to partners and associates on all aspects of projects undertaken.
- Implementing Project Procedures to projects, including PQP.
- CPD, own and monitoring staff working on assigned projects.
